What Ways Can I Roll a Towel?

If you have ever been to a spa you know that there are a multitude of ways that you can roll and fold a towel to make it aesthetically pleasing to look at. Some look like pillows, and others are clearly a towel, but it’s done in such a neat way that it blows your mind anyway. You stand there thinking to yourself: how on Earth did they get the towel to roll like that and stay in place?

Well, we’re about to tell you how with three fancy ways you can fold a towel.

1. The Classic Hotel Fold

One of the most popular rolling techniques isn’t as complex as it may seem. If you’ve been to a spa to receive a massage or even just get your nails done, chances are you have seen the technique we are talking about. It’s a simple roll technique that makes the towel look like a flat piece of paper when done correctly. We highly recommend that you use a flat surface so that you can lay your towel down on a levelled surface. Whether you are using a small washcloth, or an extra large bath towel, a flat surface will be your friend.

The first step after you have placed the towel on a flat surface is to take the longer sides of the towel and make them meet in the middle. After that, you’ll take each of the shorter sides and fold them inwards until you make a small gap where they meet. You then will fold one side over the other, your pick because it truly won’t make that much of a difference. This should create a crisp and beautifully folded bath towel that is laid flat.

The straight edges of the towel mean that you can use this method time and time again in order to save space and put the towels into storage somewhere. If you are feeling like you can’t quite get the hang of it, just practice a few times! Practice does indeed make perfect.

2. The Crescent Roll Fold

This is a personal favourite, because who doesn’t love a crescent roll? Again, you’re going to want a flat surface for this one. This one will work with any length towel, but for this example, we are picturing something like our Waffle Cotton Towel in Grey. It is the perfect size for the kind of roll we are thinking of.

Make sure you start at one of the shorter ends. Take the left corner of the towel in your left hand and the right corner of the towel in your right hand. Make them meet in the middle thus folding the towel lengthwise. After you have successfully done that, make sure it’s even and place the towel against your body. Take the top of the towel in your hands and begin to roll the towel down your body. This should create a firmly rolled towel.

After you have rolled the towel into a firm cylinder, you can place the towel wherever you desire! Put it on the bed, or maybe the bathroom counter. Wherever you end up placing the towel, the final step is to spread out the roll a little bit and curve the edges inside. Think about how a croissant looks; that’s the kind of vibe you’re going for.

3. The Narrow Roll

This particular way to roll towels is best used when you’re trying to save space, or if you happen to have a smaller sized bathroom. If you are working with limited space or you would like to use a basket to put all your rolled towels into, then this is the perfect method for you. You will start with one of the narrow ends in order to fold the towel in half lengthwise.

This is where it can get a bit tricky, but just remember, you’re trying to purposely create a more narrow side of the towel. You can fold the rectangle-shaped towel into thirds starting with the side that you want to be more narrow. Work your way to the other end of the towel so that a tight roll is created. The folded edge from before should now be at the center of the towel.

In Conclusion

You can store and roll your towels in an endless amount of ways, but choosing which way you want to roll is entirely up to you and what you’re looking for in your bathroom space. These are only three of the fancy ways that you can roll towels, but remember that you can do fun and funky ways of folding as well.

Regardless of the way you’re folding your towels, make sure that they are high-quality materials because you deserve premium products in your home.
